Salem Church Family,

Two important items:

1. Corona activity:

The Corona Delta Variant is filling emergency rooms.

Over the past 7 days for the State of Tennessee the positivity Rate has been 17.6%

Over the past 7 days in Rutherford County the Positivity Rate has been18.6%.

Our Congregation has a number of folks who are "at risk" and others who are elderly. All of us need to be very careful during these days.

Our Bishop McAlilly, in his latest blog,( https://bishopbillmcalilly.com) recommended that churches continue to follow CDC guidelines for in person worship. This is not a requirement, just a recommendation. This would mean that we would return to "No in person Worship" for a while or at least return to Masking and Distancing during worship.

Our WorshipTeam met Wednesday night, 8-18-2021, via Zoom to discuss what our Church response might be considering these statistics. We decided that it would be a wise thing to ask you to speak to this decision.

So, at the close of our service the Sunday we'd like to have a time for conversation with you about which way to go. After listening to your concerns and wishes we will have another Worship Team Meeting to make a final decision.

At this point the WorshipTeam feels that the prudent thing to do is to return to "no in person worship in the sanctuary" during the present uprising of the Delta Variant. That means we are we will watch the daily Percentage Rates and return to "worship in person" when the Positivity Rate for Rutherford County reaches 5%.

We are asking that we all please wear masks at Church this Sunday and return to Social Distancing.

No one in our congregation likes the idea of all the back and forth activity about worship. We have to ask ourselves, "What's the risk and is it worth taking?"

2. Our Indoor Picnic scheduled for August 29 after church.

Due to the rise of the Delta Variant, the close fellowship and the proximity to open food, and in consultation with others, I feel it would be prudent to postpone our Indoor Picnic for a while.

I look forward to worshiping with you Sunday,

You are loved. Jesus is Lord.

Thad
